ATS APAC 2024: Leading Technology Insights in Exotic Phuket

1st ever ATS APAC event by Biosensor International at Hyatt Regency Phuket! It was a resounding success, blending cutting-edge technology insights with the breathtaking backdrop of Phuket.

Course directors were: Dr Wacin from Thailanad, Dr Liew HB from Malaysia & Prof Wang from Taiwan.

Just had a workshop with Dr Muenpetch from Thailand the day before, great learning from Thailand Sensei!

Met lot new friends around APAC, Peggy & Davy from HK, Christine & Darien from MY, Casey from SG! Industry leaders and innovators converged to explore the latest trends, foster meaningful connections, and exchange ideas that are shaping the future of technology across the Asia-Pacific region.

The event featured dynamic sessions, insightful panels, and networking opportunities, all set against the luxurious and inspiring ambiance of Hyatt Regency Phuket, making it a truly memorable and productive experience for all attendees.

There’s a secret path that built by hotel when low tide, can walk out from the beach.. I was told its 1km long!!

Overall it was a very well organized event by Biosensors! Kudos to the organizing team lead by Casey from SG! Hope to join again in the future!

Had a golden opportunity to brush up my insulin knowledge on Ryzodeg at 1 day workshop at Melaka.

Great lineup of speakers from endocrinologist to Nephrologist & Cardiologist Dr David Yong!

Also managed to just walk to the famous Jonker Street, made world renowned by Fan Bing Bing!

Hot weather, around 1.5km from hotel.

Those taking umbrellas you know for sure are not Ang Moh haha

Stopped by this famous chicken rice shop to take my lunch before walking back to hotel

So what is Ryzodeg?

Ryzodeg is an insulin medication that combines two types of insulin: insulin degludec, a long-acting insulin, and insulin aspart, a rapid-acting insulin. Great turn up by the GPs over Sunday morning!

PMPASKL is an association of all private GPs around KL/Selangor. They are passionate to be updated on the latest updates in medical field!

Dr David Yong, IJN interventional cardiologist also shared a topic on Rybelsus the day before, great talk!

Great Q&A session as well.

Managed to meet up my previous friends who are now doing great at own GP clinic!

Glad to see them doing great now.

This year BI organized a cardiology topic related event at EQ Hotel, Kuala Lumpur: MSI Heart Interchange. Chaired by Dato Dr Azmee along with Dato Sri Dr Azhari, Dato Dr Amin, Datuk Dr Ahmad K, Dr Surinder, Dr Teoh CK, Dr Rafidah, Dr Hafidz, Dr Aslannif and 2 prominent Drs from National Heart Center Singapore Dr Kenneth Chew & Dr Natalie Koh!

Glad to share my case in early renal & CV protection. However, due to bad sore throat causing loss of voice, I have to cancel my slot at the very last minute. I still attended to give my full support!

It was a great event, great food and also managed to re-connect with some old friends from JB!

Great lineup of topics to share with all the participants!

Its great to share something out of cardiology to our ED colleagues about pain management, how celebrex can help. Thanks Viatris for the invitation!

Celebrex, also known by its generic name celecoxib, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as arthritis, acute pain, and menstrual pain. Celebrex works by inhibiting an enzyme called COX-2, which plays a key role in the production of inflammatory chemicals in the body. This targeted action helps to reduce pain and swelling with potentially fewer gastrointestinal side effects compared to traditional NSAIDs.

Glad to share a case on HFpEF diagnosis and management including forxiga to a group of doctors along with esteemed speakers Dato Dr Azmee from IJN, Datuk Dr Akmal from Gleneagles KL & Dr Yew from Mahkota Melaka!

It was a great 1 & a half hour session with great food as well.

Key take home points are SGLT2i is the only class of medication from the 4 pillars to get class 1 indication for treatment of HFpEF at ESC guideline, no attenuation on effect of Forxiga across EF.
